Who We Are: SecuredWorks, LLC is a Florida Limited Liability Company that specializes in security training for organizations and individuals.
Our Management: Carter Vance Conrad, Jr. is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of SecuredWorks. Mr. Conrad has over 20 years experience in the security industry which includes physical security and information systems security, with specialized training in the field of digital forensics. Mr. Conrad holds numerous security certifications including CISSP, CCE, Security+, QSA, & QFE, as well as the Langevin Certified Technical Trainer certification. Mr. Conrad has successfully delivered dozens of information technology trainings, resulting in 90+% certification attainment for his students. During this time Mr. Conrad has networked with numerous other IT instructors, many of whom have provided their expertise to the development of SecuredWorks curriculum, as well as their availability to deliver content according to their scope of expertise. Dave Kleiman CAS, CCE, CEECS, CIFI, CISM, CISSP, CPCS, DFCP, DREC, ISSAP, ISSMP, MCSE, MVP is an internationally recognized security expert having experience in the Information Technology sector for over 20 years. A former Florida certified law enforcement officer, Mr. Kleiman specializes in Digital/Computer Forensic Examinations, Electronic Discovery, Incident Response, and Intrusion Analysis. Mr. Kleiman is a noted author and speaker, and has delivered dozens of information technology trainings. Mr. Kleiman also served in the United States Army from 1986 - 1990, and was awarded the 1987 U.S. Army Soldier of the Year Commendation, as well as Microsoft Windows Security - Most Valuable Professional (MVP®) for 4 consecutive years. Mr. Kleiman is the Chief Operating Officer of SecuredWorks, and has final approval on curriculum and course materials.
What We Do: Secured Works’ primary focus involves information systems security training for individuals who hold current Department of Defense security clearances, with special emphasis on combat wounded veterans who need vocational rehabilitation in order to re-assimilate into private sector employment. Of particular importance is the DoD Directive 8570.01M that mandates specific training requirements commensurate with grade scales within military operations and government contractors. To that end we have established relationships with former DoD procurement officers and VA contacts in order to secure contracts for these types of specialized training. In addition our goal is to provide placement services for qualified individuals, placing them with government contractors and other companies who have need of individuals with security clearances. No individual will be excluded from training, whether veteran or not, or existing security clearance. Any person with a desire to have a career in information technology security will be able to obtain training from SecuredWorks.
Plans For The Future: SecuredWorks is in the planning stage, to construct a state-of-the-art training facility in the West Palm Beach, Florida area. This facility will be a campus oriented environment consisting of an amphitheater for presentations and training purposes, an executive office space, and housing/dormitory area, all of which will be constructed in a “disabled friendly” fashion, using modern energy efficient building techniques. The estimated completion of this project will occur in 2013. SecuredWorks will provide numerous additional training and certifications other than those required by the DoD. We will provide vendor authorized training from Microsoft© and Cisco©, as well as other vendors. Our primary focus will be on advanced information security curriculum, such as Asset Hardening, Incident Response, and Digital Forensics. It is anticipated that twenty or more different training classes will be offered from our location.
Conclusion: Security awareness training, particularly information asset protection, will continue to be an integral part of public and private sector risk management strategies into the future. Threats may be either physical or cyber-oriented, given the climate of threat agents seen in the global community, and highly trained individuals have historically provided the highest level of protection of valuable assets. SecuredWorks seeks to leverage the need for qualified individuals, as the most valuable of countermeasures to these threat agents. Assisting organizations with their information system security needs will not diminish in the foreseeable future. SecuredWorks, LLC will provide the highest quality of instruction to fill these needs.
